Membership

Membership Categories

There are a variety of skating and non-skating memberships available for the Knoxville Figure Skating Club.  All KFSC memberships include membership in U.S. Figure Skating, as well as a subscription to SKATING magazine (one per household) for the current membership year.  Membership fees do not include testing fees.  KFSC memberships run concurrently with U.S. Figure Skating memberships from July 1 through June 30.  Membership applications are available at the Cool Sports ice rink and at the KFSC website.

 

Memberships and their privileges are as follows:

Junior Membership – for the skater under 18 years of age; includes one Parent/Guardian Membership; testing privileges through all levels of testing; Club Ice privileges

Senior Membership – for the skater 18 years or older; testing privileges through all levels of testing; BOD/Club Officer eligibility; KFSC voting privileges; Club Ice privileges

Subsequent Family Membership – subsequent to a Junior or Senior Membership; includes a Junior or Senior Membership with privileges listed for those categories

Basic Membership – open to skaters under 18 years of age; for the beginning or Basic Skills level skaters wanting to participate in the Knoxville Figure Skating Club and its activities; testing privileges for Pre-Preliminary MIF and Free Skate; includes participation in KFSC club activities excluding Club Ice; additional testing and other privileges available upon upgrading to a Junior or Senior Membership

Parent/Guardian Membership – must be the parent or guardian of a current Junior, Basic, or Synchronized Skating KFSC member; voting privileges if 18 years or older; BOD/Club Officer eligibility if 18 years or older; includes participation in KFSC club activities excluding Club Ice

Associate Membership – for skaters who are U.S. Figure Skating members through another Club; testing privileges through all levels of testing; Club Ice privileges

Supporting Membership – for the non-skater who would like to be involved in KFSC; voting privileges if 18 years or older; BOD/Club Officer eligibility if 18 years or older; includes participation in KFSC activities excluding Club Ice

Coaching Membership – must be the primary coach to at least three current KFSC members; lessons must be taught at least once a month at the Cool Sports ice rink during Freestyle or Club Ice sessions; voting privileges if 18 years or older; BOD/Club Officer eligibility if 18 years or older; testing privileges through all levels of testing; Club Ice privileges

Associate Coaching Membership – for Basic Skills Coach or the Primary Coach to less than three current KFSC members; lessons must be taught at least once a month at Cool Sports ice rink during Freestyle, Basic Skills or Club Ice session; BOD Club Officer eligibility if 18 years or older; includes participation in KFSC club activities excluding Club Ice

Collegiate Membership – for full time College Student; testing privileges through all levels of testing; voting privileges if 18 years or older

Adult Recreational Membership – for skaters 18 years or older; voting privileges; BOD/Club Officer eligibility; testing privileges – Adult Pre Bronze MIF & FS, Preliminary Dance tests; KFSC Activities, excluding Club Ice

 

Additional testing and other privileges are available by upgrading to a Junior or Senior Membership anytime during the membership year by contacting the Membership Chair and paying the applicable fees.  Testing fees are not included in KFSC membership fees.

 

A Supporting Membership fee for judges who designate KFSC as their Home Club will be waived.

 

Membership fees are non-refundable.

 

Pro-rating Membership Fees

Fees for Junior and Senior Memberships are pro-rated after January 1 for first time KFSC members only.  No other memberships are pro-rated.
